The project dashboard streamlines workflow with task tracking, messaging, file sharing, and automated payments via smart contracts.

Streamlining Job Creation & Data Transfer

Using AI, we’ve streamlined the job creation process by automatically generating job titles, descriptions, and smart contract suggestions, while also recommending freelancers who are the best fit for the role. The project dashboard allows clients to easily view proposals, assign freelancers, track project progress, and manage approvals, all in one place.

I conducted 26 interviews in total, including 18 with freelancers and 8 with clients, to gather a range of insights, 9 of which I personally led.

To validate key insights from our interviews, we distributed surveys and collected 43 responses by May 12, 2024. I was responsible for designing the survey, crafting questions, and analyzing the data to uncover valuable insights.

Overwhelming Posting Options
Users felt overwhelmed by the number of steps and options when posting a job, leading to confusion and delays. A/B testing revealed that simplifying the process to a one-click job posting or talent search improved efficiency and user satisfaction.
Disruptive Wallet Connection
The pop-up wallet connection disrupted the workflow, making it feel like an unnecessary interruption. A/B testing showed that switching to a dropdown view provided a smoother experience, allowing users to connect their wallets without breaking their task flow.
Missed Project Budget Block
Users had difficulty locating the budget section for projects, which led to confusion and frustration when assessing job opportunities. Heuristic evaluation revealed that improving the visibility and positioning of the budget block enhanced user experience and helped users make quicker, more informed decisions.
Inconsistent Navigation Flow
Users struggled with inconsistent navigation across different sections of the platform, leading to a lack of clarity in how to access specific features. Heuristic evaluation pointed out the need for a more cohesive and standardized navigation structure to improve usability and guide users through the platform more smoothly.

My Learnings.

The Importance of Privacy-First Design
Working on Crypworkz reinforced how crucial privacy is in freelancing platforms. Implementing blockchain-based IDs and avatar profiles showed me that users value anonymity, and balancing security with ease of use is key to adoption.

Continuous Iteration Leads to Better User Experience
From initial research to final testing, I realized that refining features based on real user feedback is essential. The process taught me that no design is perfect on the first try, and improvements should be data-driven and iterative.

Bridging the Trust Gap in Freelancing
Freelancers and clients often struggle with trust due to payment delays and unreliable hires. By integrating smart contracts and escrow payments, I saw how technology can build confidence and improve transparency in transactions.

AI Can Streamline Complex Processes
Designing AI-driven job posting and freelancer recommendations highlighted the power of automation in reducing friction. I learned that AI isn’t just a convenience but a necessity in making freelancing platforms more efficient for both clients and freelancers.
